Beginning at 10:30 am, the subject for discussion will be mining in mid Cornwall. Different forms of mining will be explored including the local tin industry in the Early Modern period and the rise and fall of the Iron industry in the nineteenth century (illustration of Carclaze Tin Mine). In the afternoon at 2:30pm Helen Luther, curator of Fowey Museum will lead a history and craft workshop on the Cornish Gook headwear. All welcome. There will be refreshments, donations gratefully received.
